Folk Association of South Hants
About FASH
FASH was set up on the dissolution of the South Hants District of the English Folk Dance and Song Society in 1994. We are still affiliated to EFDSS.

Membership of FASH costs just £10 per year and entitles you to a £4 reduction on any workshops you attend. You can join at a workshop, or if you prefer you can do it easily online - instructions are on the membership form here. You can also fill out the form and send it to the Treasurer (see our contacts page). Requests for financial support for Folk related activities should be sent to the Secretary (see our contacts page) giving details of the proposed project and a contact telephone number. We send emails to members and supporters with details of each upcoming workshop as a reminder. We also use this mailing list to tell people if we have a sudden emergency which forces us to cancel a workshop. This has happened very occasionally due to heavy snow, flooding or illness. To be included on this mailing list as a supporter, please email info@fash.org.uk. Members are included automatically. As we no longer produce the newsletter Solent Waves, our website editor now sends out an events listing once a month, which contains information from the website for the next two months. The UKGDPR (UK General Data Protection Regulation) requires you to 'opt in', so if you would like to receive this please contact Thomas Bending on editor@fash.org.uk. The full text of the FASH Privacy Policy can be read/downloaded here. The 2026 AGM was held on May 17th on Zoom and the minutes can be downloaded here with links included to the accounts and the several committee members' reports. Members and supporters are always sent details of the AGM and we would love more people to attend and influence what we do. In the meantime we always welcome comments, questions or suggestions, so please feel free to contact any of the committee members. If you think you might be able to join the committee and help promote folk activities in our area, please phone or email any of us (see our contacts page). Any offers of help will be gratefully received! To read or download a copy of our constitution, click here. |
